Carving Pumpkins

It was quite telling this year as Lionel stuck his hand in the pumpkin just how much he is like Billy. He immediately pulled it out and whined because a bit of pumpkin touched him. Funny, Billy does the same thing! Everett pulled out a "gut" (which was really a seed) and called it a day. And I gutted them all and carved Everett and Lionel's faces. A woman's work is never done....

5 Little Pumpkins Sitting on a Gate....

Everett loves this song and here he is singing with his class, trying to scare Mama!

The Parade and Party

The whole school paraded around in costumes and then the kids went back to class for their parties. They had snacks and played BINGO. It's pretty funny watching kids play BINGO for the first time!

Happy Halloween!

A Last Minute Switch...

While we were taking pictures with Lionel, it was becoming apparent that Everett wanted to be the pirate. Two boys in his class were dressed as pirates, so he started telling me that he was one, too. A pretend pirate. Lionel couldn't stay up for trick-or-treating, so Everett asked if he could wear his costume. It fit okay (even though it was a 2T/3T!), so a pirate he became for trick-or-treating with his pal Evan.

1-2-3-Go!

Autumnfest carnival time! We had a great time this year. The boys loved the rides and games and it wasn't crowded at all. As always, it was lovely to see some carnies and gag watching the insane spinning and upside down rides. Who goes on those, seriously?

P.S. There's a nice carnie shot for you, Dad.

We Have a WINNER!

This is the first time Everett ever noticed the games at the carnival. He saw kids walking around with giant prizes and wanted one, too. He chose a duck pond game that had inflatable characters as prizes. He won a small prize and the girl showed him what he could choose from. He said, "I want that" and pointed to a giant lime green alien. Now, if you know me, you know how I feel about aliens. But what could I do? The boy wanted that alien. The girl running the game offered it to us for a couple bucks more and ding, ding, ding, we had a winner! The alien has now joined our family. Everett made it go to the potty and wash its hands this morning, but mostly it is a wrestling partner. Dada and Everett also played the squirting water race. Dada won and afterwards, secretly confessed he has never lost. How lucky for me that my husband's secret power is squirting a water gun into the mouth of a clown.
