Day 1

Well, we tried. And that has to count for something, right? We had a perfect drive, not a single delay or problem, all the way to La Jolla, CA. We checked into the hotel, the boys ran around and freaked out over the fact that our room, indeed, had 2 telephones, went to the beach and saw Lionel put his toes in the ocean for the first time ever, and then we got ready for bed. Things went a little downhill from there.....

All in a Day's Play

Building a beautiful pool wasn't enough for my children. They wanted a swing set, too. After much whining and debating over models, we ordered one. It was delivered in a giant box the day before our vacation, so I thought I'd take all the pieces out so they could play in the box and burn off some energy. Well, what do I know? They did go in it for a few minutes, but then they saw all the pieces scattered around the play room and started to climb on them and even attempt to slide on the slide that stood on its own apart from anything. This all lead to more whining and a giant empty box.

Sleeping Beauty

After a day of swimming with his friends, Everett assured me he did not need to take a nap. He buried himself in a "couch cave" and settled in to watch a show. Within minutes, he was asleep. I don't know how he wasn't stiff as a board sleeping in that scrunched up position!

Marco......

.......Polo!

You are probably wondering why there aren't a million pool pictures on here. Well, the truth is we haven't "officially" gone in yet. The boys have gone in a bit with Billy, but it is not all operational yet. For one thing, the heater isn't working yet, so Mama hasn't even dreamed of going in. These are a few shots of the initial "testing" the waters. The pool was built so quickly, but now the company has been taking it's time getting all the systems working and teaching us how to maintain it all. Hopefully this week because we are finally seeing triple digits!
