It's Splash Pad Season!

Although we are building a pool, the boys' first love will always be splash pads. We have hit 3 of them in the last week! Billy and I have to laugh because the first thing Lionel does is put his head in and drink. They just love water. I cannot wait for them to see the finished pool!

The day after the egg hunt, the sun came back and temperatures went up. We were able to go to the local carnival for a bit. Everett went on a few rides with his friend and Lionel rode the swings twice. He isn't afraid of anything!

Lionel won't wear a hat of his own, but he'll wear mine (or a washcloth) on his head and run laps around the kitchen island. It is hilarious to watch.

Spring?

We had a couple of heat waves recently, so I went ahead and put away our winter clothes and even threw away several of Lionel's pants (they were hopeless!). So when last weekend hit - temperatures in the 40's and tons of rain - I was panicked (and shocked). I dug up some clothes for them and we put the heat back on. And naturally, this was the day that Everett and Lionel were going to do their first-ever egg hunt. I'm not a fan of Easter so we have not celebrated it at all in the past, but this year the boys were invited by a friend, so we gave it a try. The weather certainly put a damper on things, but they are still playing with the plastic eggs, so that was a score!

...With a Neigh-Neigh Here, and a Neigh-Neigh There....

We went back to MacDonald's Ranch last week for some horse rides and petting zoo fun. What is it about tractors that makes boys swoon? I've never seen Lionel happier than when it was his turn to sit on the tractor! He loved petting the "neigh-neighs", too. Everett got to ride Wendy. He did great! He talked the "cowboy's" ear off (the horse's guide). We had a picnic lunch with our friends and headed home.
