Playing Around in Sedona

I was itching to get out of town and into the wilderness, so we packed up for a Sedona day trip today. It was breezy and beautiful and we had a perfect day. We did classic boy things - throwing rocks in the water, climbing rocks, running in fields, and had a picnic lunch. The boys (and Mama, too) enjoyed a nap on the way home. Here's a snippet of how gorgeous Sedona is.

Happy 11th Birthday, Zoe!

There's No Turning Back Now!

We have concrete! I can't believe the big hole in our yard is slowly becoming a pool! It was an exciting day. The boys loved watching the cement truck and the men spraying the concrete on. It was done in a few hours. Billy couldn't resist going down into the pool after dinner and, of course, Everett went with him. This did not make a certain 17 month old too happy. Where brother goes, he goes, so he almost jumped in after them! Billy tried to just hold him in there, but no way. If Everett got to walk, then Lionel has to walk. All Everett kept saying was, "Let's put water in the pool!" Poor kid is really learning how to be patient.

It's 3pm on Friday Afternoon.......

.......have you jumped on your couch cushions yet? This is how we start the weekend!

More Progress!

Desert Botanical Garden

The boys and I went to the botanical garden on Friday for the butterfly exhibit. I have gone here twice before and have also done it at the Cleveland Zoo, but this was the most spectacular visit ever! There were more butterflies than I could even believe and they were landing on us like crazy. We saw at least 12 different kinds and it captivated both boys. I could have stayed in there all day! We also walked around the gardens to see the cactuses blooming. A lot of people don't get it, but the desert is incredibly beautiful and I love it!

It's Splash Pad Season!

Although we are building a pool, the boys' first love will always be splash pads. We have hit 3 of them in the last week! Billy and I have to laugh because the first thing Lionel does is put his head in and drink. They just love water. I cannot wait for them to see the finished pool!

Carnie Kids

The day after the egg hunt, the sun came back and temperatures went up. We were able to go to the local carnival for a bit. Everett went on a few rides with his friend and Lionel rode the swings twice. He isn't afraid of anything!
