Halloween Picnic in the Park

We met some friends in the park for a picnic and play before trick-or-treating today. Everett wore his costume for a split second and then took off playing with his little friends. Lionel was a hit, as always, handing out his big smile and walking up a storm. He fell in love with the steering wheel on the play structure. He screamed when I pulled him off of it. We had a blast until the sprinklers got us!

My 1st Halloween!

Carving Time!

We only carved one pumpkin this year. I'm the only one who can stand to touch the guts (yes, it's true, my husband is a medical examiner, yet cannot touch the inside of a pumpkin). Everett was obsessed with getting all the seeds out. I spiced up my traditional jack-o-lantern face and made it a bit scary. I love carving pumpkins!

Wrestlemania!

Everett said, "Come on Lionel, let's wrestle!" this week. I had to see what that was going to look like. Basically, he is just trying to roll him over. And Lionel is cracking up. Just wait until he can wrestle back!

We just finished a meal, that is why Lionel is topless. I go through countless shirts with that boy!

Decorating Cupcakes

We had a playdate at our house and the kids all decorated cupcakes. Everett helped himself to multiple trips to the sprinkles.

Digging Tunnels

It's not going to be long before the two of them only want to play with each other and not Mama. Lionel wants to do everything Everett does, including his first time in the sandbox. Not too much sand was consumed...

It's Raining Men!

Multiple copies of these photos are going to a safe place. I think it is important that Everett sees this someday (and maybe his first girlfriend, too!)

Messy Bessy

A long time ago, I had to accept how messy having kids was going to be. But there's messy and then there's Lionel. He is a whole new class of messy. The boy cannot eat a meal without having the entire thing smeared, not only on his face, but on his entire body. I often find food even inside his diaper. And he is now refusing to wear a bib (not that that helped all that much anyway). He rips it off immediately with a smile on his face. He knows.

Thank goodness I don't have to hand down his clothes to any more kids....they are barely decent enough to leave the house in! Everett has come a long way with how messy he eats, so I am hopeful that Lionel will grow out of it!

Fall is in the Air!

We went to Autumnfest today. Once again, it was a beautiful fall day. Billy and I marveled at how, a year ago, I was huge and pregnant and now, here's Lionel - a walking boy who seems like he's just always been a part of our family. It's so amazing how time flies! The boys had a blast. Everett loved the spiderman bounce house this year and Lionel just loved walking and wandering around. My favorite pics are the attempts at a cute brother shot. I mean, could they be any less excited?????
