We have started potty training. All I can say is that it's.....going. Not good, not bad. We're figuring it out as much as Everett is. But he is really excited about it and his Thomas big boy underwear!

Now, This is What I Call Summer!
Here Comes Trouble!
I really have to get used to the fact that Lionel is completely mobile and that I can no longer trust him! I was doing something in the kitchen and the boys were in the family room and all of the sudden, I saw the Thomas tent moving. I could see Everett on the couch and Zoe was alseep upstairs in the closet (as usual), so that left only one other (little) person! Lionel crawled right into it and was just rolling around in the tent. He was having the time of his life and has repeated this feat several times!

I Have to Laugh
I wanted to write down some of Everett's recent quips. I know it's cliche to say that kids say the darnedest things, but....
1. While being especially sassy, we asked Everett if he loved Mama, "No!" . We asked do you love Dada, "No!". And then he screamed, "I don't want to love!"
2. Today we were driving and we drove past some horses in a corral. Everett screamed out, "Horses! I see horses, Mama! Um, I think actually those are cows."
3. Last night Billy was singing songs to Everett before bed. He was begging to have his fan on. Billy (in his wisdom) told Everett that his fan was broken and tomorrow when it was fixed he could have his fan on. Then Billy came over to kiss Everett goodnight. Everett refused. He said to Billy, "Dada, the kisses are broken. Tomorrow when they are fixed, I will give you one."
And I love that his favorite words are probably and actually. What do you want for breakfast Everett? "Probably I will have french toast, Mama." He keeps me laughing!
Reason # 127 I Love Being a Mom...
.....when my kids play together! It is so wonderful to see them together. Lionel worships Everett and Everett has noticed that Lionel isn't just a little baby anymore. Today they woke up at the same time from their naps. I got Everett up first and when we went into Lionel's room, I put Everett in his crib with him. I expected one or more protests, but instead I got
a request for toys and was actually told to "Go out of here, Mama". They wanted to be alone! It was so precious, that is, until I heard Everett say, "Lionel, I need to carry you." I had to pop in to be sure Lionel didn't get tossed!
Summer Camp!
Everett started camp this week! It is 2 days a week at a preschool. Everett was born to go to school. He really is a natural student. I hadn't planned on starting so soon, but I feel like I am short-changing him these days since Lionel needs so much from me, too. So I found this camp program and we are testing out the whole "school" notion before we enroll him for the fall. Tuesday was his first day and when I dropped him off, he was the only kid in his class who didn't cry. It made it easier for me to leave. When I picked him up, he said, "I missed you so much! I missed you a hundred Mama!" but that camp was, "Really, really great!" It ended at 12 and he usually naps at 12:15/12:30, so he was exhausted! I tried to get details out of him about his day, but didn't get much. His teachers said he did awesome! They said he was quiet and well-behaved. My Everett??
Today was day 2. He, once again, kissed me and let me go easily. When I picked him up, he was by the door and ready to go home. He was really tired today. But it seemed to go well again. The teacher did say he threw some toys today (Ah, there's the Everett I know!). He has 2 weeks left. He said he wants to go back, so maybe preschool in the fall is really happening!
Waiting to go into camp for the first time

After his first day, with the crown he made on (very tired!)
On The Move!
Lionel turns 7 months this weekend! For Everett, month 7 brought on just about everything - sitting up, crawling, self-feeding, climbing stairs, pulling up to standing. I can't believe that Lionel will be doing all of these things soon, too! He already has a head start on his brother....he has begun "crawling" and sat up by himself for a good 15 minutes with me. And boy is he interested in EVERYTHING! My favorite thing to do right now is put him down on the floor and put one random object on the floor across the room and watch him go! He also loves spoons right now. He can sit in his high chair happy as a clam with a couple spoons in his mouth. And, of course, he worships his big brother and especially loves Zoe. The two of them have a little bond going. She is so sweet with him! I even caught her sleeping on the floor outside the door to his room.
The famous "rock"
Nice plank, Lionel!
Playing with his best bud, Zoe (who just got her summer shave)
