ZOO!

We went to the Phoenix zoo yesterday and had a blast!  It was a gorgeous day and we got to do some new things.  It was also the first time we let Everett "walk" and not ride in the stroller the whole time.  That tired Momma and Dadda out fast!

I LOVE this picture!

TUNNELS!

Everett's Thomas obsession also includes an obsession with tunnels because trains go in tunnels, of course.  On the way to the zoo, every time we went under a bridge, Everett screamed, "Hooray tunnel!".  So you can imagine how excited he was seeing the zoo's new splash/play area that was set up like a cave with tunnels!  He would have stayed there for 5 hours if we let him!

We thought this was hilarious....Everett would bend over and look at each light that was in the ground.  Each light, EVERY time he passed by one!

Harmony Farm & Petting Zoo

This was the first time that we went to the petting zoo and farm at the Phoenix Zoo with Everett.  He met many friendly goats and enjoyed giving them a "pat".  He liked playing farmer, too.

This is a good close-up of Everett's new "Lightning McQueen" shoes.  He LOVES them!

OBSESSED!

The last couple of weeks have been really hard.  Everett was sick for the first time and was just not himself.  Mama and Dada were clueless as to what happened to their sweet boy!  But what was born out of all this was Everett's absolute obsession with Thomas.  He's played with Thomas before, but this is not just playing - this is walking around the house, screaming "I love you Thomas!" and hugging his trains.  He goes to bed with them and runs to them first thing in the morning.  And we won't go into details about the Thomas show on TV, but lets just say that Billy and I know the theme song VERY WELL.  Here are a few shots I could get in an attempt at capturing the obsession.

Showing off Red Caboose

Mr. Serious can't be bothered to stop playing for pictures!

Hanging Out with Friends

Everett and I went kite flying with our friends Sarah and Isaiah.  It was almost too windy so we played a lot, too.

Aunt Sue!

We had a lovely visit with Auntie!  Although Everett was a bit under the weather, we had fun showing her the train park and our new backyard.
