Nothin' New

We borrowed Gabe's walker to see if Everett would be interested in it. Can't say that he is really. Now that he can get around on his own so well, he hates the confines of the walker.

He prefers to use it as a climbing apparatus.

ROCKSTAR! (Yes, I'm one of those mothers...)

Don't Ignore the Warning Signs

Yesterday was "one of those days" and if you've ever had an eight month old, you know exactly what I mean. We had a playdate at a new zoo that Everett screamed through and getting him to nap was so difficult, I myself passed out in the middle of the day. I'm kicking myself though because the warning signs were right there in his crib yesterday morning. While I was in the shower, I put some books and toys in his crib to occupy him. When I was done, I went in to check on him and that's when I saw the carnage. Everett destroyed his pop-up Wiggles book. Their heads and arms had been ripped off and shredded. Body parts were everywhere and to date, one Wiggle is unaccounted for. I should have known the day would be a challenge....

The Host with the Most

Everett had a lovely visit with Grandma Carole! And I am extremely happy to report that he loves his latest food adventures -cottage cheese, kiwi, and broccoli!! Billy is considering a paternity test....

Rise of the Machine

I don't know where he picked up this expression and the word "Ohhhh", but this is classic Everett. Daddy took this photo "essay".

Splish Splash

Everett dipped his toes in at the splashpark. He loves to watch the kids playing. It won't be long until he's walking around there himself!

Say Cheese!

It is becoming increasingly more difficult to get my son to sit still. This photo session took a good half hour. I can't believe he's 8 months!

What? Do I Have Something on my Face?

Everett has been doing a lot better with finger foods. He really likes his organic Teddy Puffs, but they are quite magnetic when wet. Now we just have to work on his aversion to chunks!

Everything's Going Swimmingly

To celebrate our first hot day, we filled up Everett's new pool on the patio. He loved playing in it dry in the living room, so the water was a bit of a surprise.

But we think he liked it! He especially enjoyed being squirted with a water bottle by Mommy. Of course all he wanted to do was stand in the pool.

Zoe looked on - incognito. She knew we would try to put her in the pool if she was outside (just like the tunnel and tent we forced her into!).

Tunnel of Love

We bought Everett a tunnel, tent, and pool this weekend. He was hesitant about all three at first. Daddy had to show him how to do it (which proved to be quite tricky for Daddy).

Eventually he went through when one of us showed him an electronic device (ie. remote or camera) on the opposite end. That really accelerated his crawling!

Standing on His Own Two Feet

Thursday

Friday

Saturday morning

I was washing breakfast dishes and there he was....pulling up on the fireplace and standing. I'm not ready for this!
